Laure Rungette, actress and director Artistic director of the Champ Exquis Theatre
Laure founded the TCE in 1986 with Sacha Hourwich with whom she created several performances for young people. At the same time, she continued her artistic research in theatre, literature and writing, concentrating on the specificities of young audiences. In 1989, she begins working with Veronique Piantino, author, dramatist and director.
After working as an actress in Paris, Caen, Toulouse etc with several directors (Michel Chiron, Serge Nail, Sacha Hourwich, Eric Louviot…) she works for three seasons at the Centre Dramatic National Jeune Public the Gros Caillou while continuing training at the Sorbonne University Paris III and in the AFR workshops at the CDN (National Theatre Centre) of Caen. (under Claude Yersin, René Loyon, Didier Besace…)
In 1996, the TCE is recognised for its artistic excellence and is implanted officially in Blainville/Orne, funded by the Ministry of Culture, the Region of Basse Normandie, the General Council of Calvados and the City of Blainville/Orne. With the help of its financial partners, the TCE inaugurates the new theatre space and begins a year round theatre season including its own creations and performances from different companies from around France. Then the creation of the festival RIBAMBELLE, the first festival for young people in the region of Basse Normandie. In 2006, the TCE is recognised « public utility » and integrates the agglomeration Caen la Mer. Today, the TCE is a theatre space with its own creations and a space of learning and sharing with its spectator school, for children, adolescents and adults.
